June 20 to July 22
Monday-Thursday - 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
Fridays - Pool Days! - 10:00-11:30 a.m.

Special Days at Summer Recreation

Mark your calendar for the following special days and activities at Summer Rec:

  • Pool Days
    Fridays 10:100-11:30a at Wilson Park Pool
  • Every Friday is Pool Day at Summer Recreation (weather permitting)! Drop off and pick up in same location. Drop off begins at 9:45a - Pick up begins at 11:20a. Children should come in their bathing suits for swimming, games, and fun. Don't forget a towel! The concession stand will be open if you wish to send money with your child for a snack.

  • Library Story-time
  • June 23, July 6 & 21 - K and 1st Grade
    June 29, July 12 - 2nd and 3rd Grade

    Children will be escorted to the Green Tree Municipal Park for Story-time and a craft provided by the Green Tree Public Library

  • Yoga Class
  • June 29 - Session 1 (K & 1st Grade)
                   Session 2 (4th Grade & Older)
    July 13 -  Session 1 (2nd & 3rd Grade)
                   Session 2 - (4th Grade & Older)

    Campers will be offered yoga class while at Summer Recreation. Classes will be outside and taught by Yoga Instructor Erin Bosniak.

  • Tie Dye Day
  • Tuesday, June 28
    Children will be given a Green Tree Summer Recreation t-shirt to tie dye and may bring an additional shirt, pillowcase, or pair of socks to tie dye. Tie dye permanently stains, so dress in old clothes this day!

  • Allegheny Park Ranger Visit
  • Thursday, June 30 at the GT Fire Hall
    Session 1 9:30-10:00a (Grades K-2)
    Session 2 10:00-10:30a (Grades 3-5)

    Allegheny Park Rangers will talk with us and teach us about reptiles and snakes that life in our area. They will be bringing an educational animal to visit with them.

  • Crazy Hair Day
  • Wednesday, July 6
    Wear a crazy hat or have a crazy hairdo! Winner in each age group will win a prize.

  • Field Trip to Green Tree Police Department
  • Monday, July 11
    Grades K-3

    Children in grades K-3 will be escorted to the Police Department for a tour.

  • Camp Picture Day
  • Tuesday, July 12
    Wear your tie dye Summer Recreation shirt for picture day!

  • Community Service Project for the Humane Society
  • Monday, July 18
    We will be making dog and cat toys to donate to the Humane Society of Pittsburgh.
    If anyone would like to donate dog or cat food or treats to the Humane Society, we will be collecting donations that day.

  • Zoo-Mobile Visit
  • Tuesday, July 19 at the GT Fire Hall
    9:30-10:15a (Grades K-4)

    The Pittsburgh Zoo will be bringing their Wonders of Wildlife program to Summer Recreation!

  • Last Day of Summer Recreation: PIZZA PARTY AT THE POOL!
  • Friday, July 22
    Pizza and drinks will be provided along with pool games to celebrate a great summer for the last day of Recreation.
