Swimming Lessons
Private lessons are 30 minutes; group lessons are one hour. Classes are available for beginners, advanced beginners, intermediates and swimmers. Applicants for group lessons must have pool passes. A limited number of swimming lessons will be offered at the pool in the evenings at 7:00 p.m. Evening classes will begin on the same dates as listed above for children who are unable to attend morning sessions. Only private classes are available in the evenings. Before the pool is open for the season, you may register for swimming lessons at the Municipal Center Office where a complete listing of sessions, levels, and times are available. After the pool opens, please register for swimming lessons at the pool. Group Instructions
Individual (Private) Instructions:
NOTE: Non-residents interested in taking private lessons at Green Tree Pool must have a non-resident pool pass. Non-residents may not register for swimming lessons until the Friday prior to the session they are interested in attending. Please contact the Pool Manager at the Green Tree Pool to register for these private lessons. Rainy Day Policy On rainy days the pool will follow the National Weather Service forecasts to determine whether to stay open or to close. For example, if it is raining when the pool is to open, the pool will stay open for two hours. At that time the National Weather Service will be called. If the forecast calls for rain for the rest of the day, the pool will close at that time. If the forecast calls for clearing, the pool will remain open. Call Green Tree's Information Line at 412-921-9005 to check on closings. The pool will be cleared immediately if any thunder or lightening occurs. No one will be allowed back into the pool for 30 minutes. Each new rumble of thunder or flash of lightning starts the clock over again. The pool will be closed in the event of a severe thunderstorm or other weather emergency. |
