Green Tree's Summer Recreation is the best deal going for Green Tree kids in grades K-6. Each day from 10:00-12:00 noon, children can make their own craft and take part in organized play with others their own age. Teen counselors are assigned to different areas of Wilson Park to assist, supervise and rotate the children through activities so they can have the opportunity to take part in all aspects of the program.

Special dates/events during Summer Recreation to remember:

• Tuesday, June 24 - Tie-Dye T-Shirt Day - Dress in old clothes and bring your Recreation T-Shirt or other shirt to Tie-Dye. Messy fun!
• Tursday, July 17 - Summer Recreation at the Green Tree Nature Center - Explore the great outdoors this day and tour the Nature Center. Participants should be dropped off and picked up at the Nature Center instead of at Wilson Park.

The program has a different theme each week listed below. The games, activities and crafts are designed to reflect the weekly theme and children will be encouraged to participate.

Each Friday, Summer Recreation is held at the pool. Wear your bathing suit for some wet and wild summer fun.

Please let us know at the beginning of the Summer Recreation Program if you feel there could be a problem with your child straying and we will make every effort to keep them in the park until you arrive. The staff will be informed and every attempt will be made to prevent this from happening. Parents should stress to their children the dangers of crossing roads or walking by themselves.

Lunch will be available at the pool for $2 if the child wishes to stay. It is recommended that only older children participate in this lunch program since children will NOT be supervised at this time.

As before, younger children may enroll in the program only if a parent remains with them at all times.

Summer Recreation will NOT be held on the following dates because of other special summertime trips and events that are scheduled on those days:

• June 18 - Kennywood School Picnic
• July 4 - Independence Day Celebration
• July 23 - Splash Lagoon
