Swimming Lessons
at Wilson Park Pool
Two 2-week sessions beginning June 20 and July 5

Swimming lessons are held at Wilson Park Pool, Monday through Thursday mornings for two week sessions, except for the week of July 5 because of the Monday, July 4 holiday (check with your swim instructor for class scheduling). All lessons are 30 minutes. Rates are listed below.

A limited number of swimming lessons will be offered in the evening at 7:00 and 7:30 p.m. Evening lessons will begin on the dates listed above for children who are unable to attend the morning sessions. Only private lessons are available in the evenings.

Register for swimming lessons at the Green Tree Municipal Center Office. After the pool opens you may register for swimming lessons at the pool.

Rainy Day Policy

On rainy days the pool will follow the National Weather Service forecasts to determine whether to stay open or to close. For example, if it is raining when the pool is to open, the pool will stay open for two hours. At that time the National Weather Service will be called. If the forecast calls for rain for the rest of the day, the pool will close at that time. If the forecast calls for clearing, the pool will remain open. Call Green Tree's Information Line at 412-921-9005 to check on closings.

The pool will be cleared immediately if any thunder or lightening occurs. No one will be allowed back into the pool for 30 minutes. Each new rumble of thunder or flash of lightning starts the clock over again. The pool will be closed in the event of a severe thunderstorm or other weather emergency.

In the event that the pool must be closed because of unstable weather and swimming lessons cancelled, parents should contact their child's swimming instructor promptly to reschedule any cancelled lessons.
