TV Recycling Update
Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection is now allowing free-based programs as an interim solution for television collection and recycling.
Following a recent Joint Legislative Conservation Committee hearing focused on issues concerning the Covered Device Recycling Act (PA's e-waste law), a group of concerned legislators wrote to the Secretary of the DEP asking for clarification. DEP Secretary John Quigley stated that recyclers of electronics may charge fees to cover recycling costs. As a result, the Pennsylvania Resource Council will resume accepting televisions for recycling at their collection events for a fee. Additionally, eLoop llc in Plum Borough also accepts televisions for recycling. Click here for more information about eLoop llc and the services they offer.
